Welcome
Hi, I’m Sharon
I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and self-taught home cook. By day, I balance mom life with working as a health and nutrition writer, recipe developer, and photographer. You can read more about my professional work here.
On this website, you’ll find my personal recipe collection. Nutrition is all about finding the right balance for YOU — and a balanced recipe collection is what you’ll find here. Think: a mix of family favorites, lightened up comfort foods, and baked goods made with old-fashioned butter, flour, and sugar.
I hope my recipes inspire you to get in the kitchen, get cooking, and find your own healthy balance!

Where this all began
My love for cooking and baking started at an early age. As a kid, I loved flipping through the pages of my parent’s cookbooks, helping in the kitchen, and lingering around our blended Jewish-Catholic holiday tables. Check out little Sharon whipping up a batch of cookies in her Charlie Brown apron!
The comfort and familiarity I found in recipes and cooking led me to the department of Nutrition & Dietetics in college. My favorite nutrition classes? The cooking lab where we got hands on with food, learning culinary basics like how to whip cream and make lump-free gravy. (Did you think I was going to say organic chemistry?)
While I’ll always enjoy learning about nutrition and keeping up with the ever-changing world of health and wellness, it turns out I’m happiest when I’m creating in the kitchen. Simple, good food. That’s where it’s at, friends.

Mom is the title I wear with the most pride. In my opinion, being a mom is the hardest and most wonderful job in the world. I’m a stay-at-home-work-from-home mama, so anything that makes life with littles easier, more fun, or more educational instantly has my attention!
Most people don’t know I also have a Masters of Education and have experience as an elementary teacher and guidance counselor. While I haven’t been in a classroom in years, my love for children’s literature, sensory activities, arts & crafts, and educational play strongly influences how I parent and interact with my little guy.
On this blog, I’ll also be sharing motherhood moments, like meals that win over my picky toddler, nutrition hacks for kids, and the best gear (books, toys, learning resources, etc.) that truly standout in a an oversaturated market.
